Honda brings a breakthrough in automotive design to the CR-V
-- a new lightweight, compact, and quiet 2.0-liter DOHC
i-VTEC engine. The i-VTEC engine incorporates a new variable
dual-passage intake manifold, which is long at low rpm and
short at high rpm. This greatly enhances torque at low and
mid-range speeds while also providing high-power output at
high speeds.
The placement of the engine and spare tire, Honda has
lowered the center of gravity, and combined it with
lightweight well-balanced body rigidity, fine-tuned new

Precision Timing with VTC
Isolating the camshaft from its driving
sprocket, the VTC mechanism permits continuous accurate
electronic control of relative rotational alignment between

Innovative i-VTEC technology dramatically improves
combustion efficiency and reduces intake resistance. At the
same time, a roller-type rocker arm is used to diminish
