HONDA KALOOKAN ACQUIRES STATE OF THE ART WHEEL ALIGNER by HCKI News Team
Honda Cars Kalookan, Inc. (HCKI) recently procured a John Bean Visualiner 3D (V3D) wheel aligner, which boasts of the most advanced and useful alignment software in the industry and priced at about Php 1.4M. The high-tech wheel aligner employs live, 3-Dimensional modeling for live-readings of all alignment angles at all working lift heights and set-up to live readings in under 5 minutes. It is a non-gravity based system that minimizes many common operator/equipment errors.
Using high resolution digital cameras and patented three dimensional modeling technology, the vertical planes of each of the vehicle’s wheels as well as the plane of the vehicle itself are modeled. The vehicle’s plane is modeled from the center points of each spindle axis where the wheels attach to the vehicle.
The geometric relationships of each individual wheel plane to each other and to the common vehicle plane determine the various measurements which form the basis for the vehicle’s wheel alignment in three dimensions. The computer then compares these measurements to the car manufacturers’ specifications and tells the operator which angles need to be adjusted and by how much. This is done with live computerized modeling rather than gravity based measuring devices. Older alignment technologies use electronic gravity sensors or targets that have to be leveled each time to determine the relationships of the planes of the wheels to surface or lift upon which the vehicle is sitting.
With the V3D imaging technology, HCKI can now perform easier, faster, and more accurate alignments.
